Mission Trip Highlights
2011 Mission Trip From June 20 - June 25, 2011 thirteen youth and chaperones from our church traveled to McComb, MS to, once again, participate in a World Changers Mission trip. The mission trip was a huge success! There were 138 presentations of the gospel and 20 recorded professions of faith. Thank you to everyone who supported this trip with their prayers and donations. We saw lives changed before our very eyes and God was definitely at work! We are already praying for guidance in choosing next year's mission trip. All prayers are appreciated.
2010 Mission Trip From July 5 - July 10, 2010 twelve volunteers from the Perry Crossroads UMC youth group, traveled to Columbia, S.C. to participate in a World Changers Mission trip. Crossroads UMC youth joined over 200 youth from all over the US. All youth were divided among nearly 30 crews and worked on a variety of projects ranging from roofing to the painting of homes in the Columbia area. More important than the labor that these youth donated was their eagerness to share the gospel with the community. The gospel was presented 200 times and 7 lives were saved by the Holy Spirit working through this youth group. Although the showers left little to be desired (5 showers for 150 females!), the fellowship, worship, labor, and love of Christ left this small church youth group wanting more. Plans for next year's mission trip are already in the works. Our God is an Awesome God!
2009 Mission Trip "Thank You" to everyone who donated clothing. We delivered a truck load to "Unto the Least of His" ministry who will, in turn, deliver them to the needy in Africa or South America. After delivering the clothes, we spent the rest of the first day staining a very weathered and neglected deck on a house.
We spent the first part of the second day worshipping with nursing home residents. Then we headed for a little "play time" as we took a canoe trip down the Oconee River. We had a great time in God's service!
